Photoshop for beginners

Learn the basics of working with standard professional photo retouching software. In this activity we will teach, through practical and theoretical exercises, how to adapt formats and resolutions, optimize for the web, level and apply standard toning to improve digital images (web or print) correctly. We will also teach you how to perform facial retouching and professional photographic toning (Rob Carr Method).

Explain the Photoshop interface and how to configure it correctly.

Explain the basic theory of bitmaps and color modes.

We will practice the theoretical and practical concepts related to the capture and editing of digital images, resolutions, changes in size, layers and color adjustments (basic toning).

Learn to perform facial retouching and professional photographic turns (Rob Carr Method).

Learn Photoshop workflows, as well as the different techniques to export correctly (print and web).





SCHEDULE

1.- What is Photoshop?

- The interface, display, history and navigation.
- The toolbox and options.
- Color profiles and Photoshop preferences.

2.- Bitmaps
- Properties of bitmaps. megapixels
- RGB and CMYK color mode.
- Change the image resolution. Enlarge, reduce and crop the image.

3.- Layers, channels and Color adjustments
- Work with layers and channels.
- Basic adjustments to improve images with the Histogram tool (levels, tone and saturation, black and white).

4.- Advertising touch-up: Facial improvements and Black and White Method Rob Carr
- Professional methods for enhancing images with cloning tools, filters and adjustments.
- Professional method for making turns in black and white (Rob Carr).

5. Workflows and preparation of files for print and web
- File types: TIF, RAW, JPEG, PNG and PSD.
