Canòdrom

Critical technology training at the Canòdrom Digital Innovation Centre

The Canòdrom is housed in the Ateneu d’Innovació Digital i Democràtica, on the site of the former greyhound racing track in the Sant Andreu district. It encourages people to learn about technology from a critical and reflective perspective, raising awareness of digital rights and responsibilities. Its classrooms have natural light, 12 desktop computers running open-source software and an interactive digital whiteboard.

It is the only facility offering basic technology training entirely based on open-source software. Courses range from using computers and mobile devices to browsing the internet and using email, always presenting alternatives to commercial software and platforms. It also offers children’s workshops that encourage interest in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics).
