Critical technology training at the Canòdrom for Digital Innovation

The Canòdrom is located in the Ateneu d’Innovació Digital i Democràtica, on the site formerly occupied by the greyhound racing track in the Sant Andreu district. This space promotes learning about technology from a critical and reflective perspective, with the aim of raising awareness of people’s digital rights and responsibilities. Its classrooms have natural light, 12 desktop computers equipped with open-source software and an interactive digital whiteboard.

It is the only facility offering basic technology training based entirely on open-source software. The training covers everything from understanding how computers and mobile devices work to learning how to browse the internet and use email, always offering alternatives to commercial software and platforms. It also runs children’s workshops to encourage interest in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics).
