New trends in artificial intelligence (AI)

The AI paradigm is evolving daily, and it is essential to stay up to date with its key types, underlying methodologies, the most relevant tools and models, and how they are applied in real-world use cases. This activity will cover the latest developments and their application for both personal productivity and business innovation.

Specific goals | Temary

OBJECTIVES

  • Differentiate the main categories and subcategories of contemporary Artificial Intelligence.
  • Identify and describe the most influential technological trends in current AI.
  • Understand (conceptually) the basic methodologies enabling these trends (ML, DL).
  • Recognize representative tools associated with key trends and their main purposes.
  • Analyze specific examples and real-world applications of AI across various domains (personal, healthcare, finance, industry, creativity, etc.).
  • Develop an informed perspective on the opportunities and challenges associated with AI advancement.

COURSE CONTENT

  1. Generative AI
    • What it is and how it works (conceptually): Foundational Models, LLMs (GPT, Llama, Gemini), Diffusion Models.
    • Different models for different tasks: Thinking, Flash, Mini, Reasoning...
    • Text Generation: Tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity), applications (content creation, assistants, summarization), basic prompting.
    • Multimedia Generation: Image, Video and Music. Creative and professional applications.
    • Key use cases (personal and business). Associated risks (bias, deepfakes, intellectual property).
    • How to choose the best LLM? Current tools and benchmarks.
    • Hands-on with different LLMs depending on the use case.
    • Local LLMs.
  2. Computer Vision ¿ The AI that "Sees"
    • Basic principles: How machines interpret images and videos.
